WEEKLY CALENDAR: 2023-2024 School Year
Each week I will post a picture of the weekly calendar (see below the "What To Do If Gone" steps). That way, if you are gone, you can check here and see what you missed and need to get made up. Speaking of, here is what you should do if you are ever gone.
What To Do If Gone
If you have missed class (for any reason), these are the steps you should take to figure out what you need to do to get caught up. You should have all you need in order to stay caught up so that you haven’t missed anything when you return. You can take advantage of this if you know you are going to be gone a specific date, or if you ended up being out sick unexpectedly.
Lessons
I have a recorded lesson for every topic we cover in class. These can be found on my website under the tab – Recorded Lessons. This is where you will go to watch any lessons you have missed.
You should also look to read the book section for the day you missed as the book provides good examples and supplementary explanations as well.
Note Packets
Note packets are passed out the first day we begin any new unit. However, I have attached blank note packets on the class website (Your Class -> Notes & HW Solutions -> Click the “Blank Note Packets” button). Make sure to fill out your note packet as you watch the recorded lesson for each lesson you missed!
Assignments
Once you find the weekly calendar on the course homepage that corresponds to your absence, find the homework assignment(s) that you’re missing based on the assignment sheet for that chapter.
Quiz / Test / Activity
If you missed a quiz or a test, you’ll need to make this up in person upon your return (or before you leave if it’s a planned absence). If there is anything else unique that you’ve missed, please ask me and we’ll figure out how best to catch you up.
After you’ve completed these steps, please feel free to send me a Teams message with any questions you may have! Please DO NOT message me until after you have attempted these steps to get caught up; after you have run through these steps, I’m more than happy to help!
Mr. Clinch
- Go to our class website (chsclinch.weebly.com).
- Find the Weekly Calendar tab and look at what occurred for the day(s) you were gone.
- Make note of the following:
- Any lessons you missed, and the titles of the videos you’ll need to watch.
- Any homework assignments you missed (check your assignment sheet).
- Any quiz, test, or other in-class activity you may have missed.
- Upon your return:
- Handouts can be found in the bins in my classroom.
- Missing tests/quizzes will be in their bin with your name on them.
Make a plan with me to make these up!

If you are in Honors Precalculus and gone Thursday or Friday of this week, see the steps below for each day.
Thursday
Over the next two days we are going to complete an ACT Math Practice Test. If you would like to become more familiar with some of the expectations and ways to prepare for the ACT in general, check out the "Preparing for the ACT" file below.
When you take the actual test, you will have 60 minutes to complete the 60 problems. We will use 35 minutes today and 25 minutes tomorrow.
In class today students will be given 35 minutes to complete as many problems as they can. Because the file was large, I had to split the practice test into two halves (if you finish the first 30, just open the second half and continue). So, set a timer for 35 minutes and get as far as you can (record your answers on a blank piece of paper). You are allowed only a graphing calculator and a pencil when you take the test. Pause where you're at after 35 minutes and you will finish tomorrow.
Friday
Today, we will finish the ACT practice test. Set a timer for 25 minutes and continue where you left off yesterday. After the timer is done, stop. You should never leave an answer blank so at least guess on every problem. Score your answers using the answer key in the "Scoring the ACT" file below. You can then convert your score out of 60 to what the ACT records it out of their 36-point scale.
To help you improve, I have included video recordings of me doing each problem from this practice test and posted them below.
If you would like more practice, I have posted additional practice tests and keys below.

12/18 - 12/22
If you are gone M-W in Precalc, we are watching the biographic movie "The Man Who Knew Infinity." A link to the movie can be found HERE (CLICK TO OPEN).
As students watch, they have two assignments to complete. One of them is just basic comprehension questions from the movie and the second are some math extension questions.
The first one I will pass out a sheet for in class and you will write your responses on the sheet to be turned in Thursday at the beginning of class.
The second one I posted a PDF on Teams (also posted below). You write your responses on your own piece of paper and turn that in to Teams by 8:30 AM Thursday.
